Ponder

along your path

Linger

upon your warmth

Lather you

within my hearth

Smother you

with my sweet breath

Just once, in this lifetime?

Can I

Trace a line

across parted lips

Paint a flower

over closed lids

Cover you a bit, in gentle nips

Shower your mouth with maple sips

Just once in this life time?

Could I

Enclose you

within my hold

Embalm you

with my song

Embrace you, soul to soul

Emblazon you in a fiery mold

Just once in this life time?

Should I

Scurry alongside

you with zest

Bury my head

on your chest

Make this my eternal quest

Forget about all the rest

Just once in this life time?

Would you mind

Carefully,

brushed your strands

Tenderly,

kissed your tears

Playfully, nuzzled you apart

Gently, touched your heart

Just once in this life time?
