Glowering
Quiet sunshine, calm and
Baloney converges on
This scene.
A brittle brightness divides
The leaves, laser white and
Abyss green.
The still, peaceful flutter of the
Branches irritate me. This is
All wrong.
Gnashed teeth and a curled lip
Attend to my furious summons of
The Storm.
A gritted whisper, swells to a snarl.
Whip up the dirt, the leaves,
Make them dance!
Scatter the folk, the little lives!
See them scurry home and hide,
In vain.
Hear my cry, send your worst!
I want squalid clouds to gather
And piss.
Send the hammer smash of
Filthy rain! Electric white fingers
Jab the reach.
Strip the roofs, flick open
The gates. Hinges and tiles
Shriek, too late.
Trees bow down, plead
For mercy. Flay and
Char!
Wrath drops drench and
Fury heaves. My triumph
Is complete.
