Here I Stand

Here I stand a person, or a friend
One to believe in to the bitter end
When all is consumed with colors and lights
From the fireworks that lit up that one very night

Assortments, and shapes of different projections
Here I stand a man who is used to rejection
Heart broken, and lonely I lose my motion
To move forward in my life when all is broken

Here I stand a soldier, fighting for those I love
In different parts of the world where push comes to shove
Bullets and shrapnel burst into the air
As I run through it all hanging by a hair

Get back home to a life, much different than before
Here I stand a man, a husband to look out for
For I may have been at war with a lot of ammunition,
But when were at home, all you have is intuition.

Here I stand a human just like anyone else
Born with a heart, looking after ones health
For theres moments where we lose sight of who we are
As we shoulder our burdens near and far
