I woke up to pouring rain
Descending upon manhattan
And all I thought about was yesterday
Maybe this life wasn't for me

I traveled this world for far too long
Sleepless nights on my highway again
I can't recall a place that was inviting
Embraced the lifestyle of the vain

If these miles continue to grow
I don't think I can move along
I'll wait patiently for awhile
To come back home again

Europe was a different kind of color
While Los Angeles kept me lazy
I keep the faith so my heart don't get heavy
I found serenity in my memories

But these days are breaking me in
I'll say hello to you again someday
I need a little taste of home
Cause the burden is just too much

If these miles continue to grow
I don't think I can move along
I'll wait patiently for awhile
To come back home again

I welcomed the sight of green pastures
Little forgotten towns and fields
Far away from the skyline of hollywood
Cause this life is overwhelming

If these miles continue to grow
I don't think I can move along
I'll wait patiently for awhile
To come back home again
