When I hear the screams
I can't help it
I just want to leave
When I see the marks
I'm disgusted by it
But I want to turn away
When they come crying
I don't want to hurt
So I push them aside
When it becomes my turn
I hear the accusations
And I hear about everything
How it is all my fault
I want to cover my ears
But that would only annoy
Then there would be only pain to feel
So I put on a blank face
And I don't say a word
I stand there and I take it
And I feel horrified with myself
Because I am selfish
Because I am scared
Because my feelings make me weak
And because I am weak
I can do nothing but stare
I can't help it

Wonderful piece, honestly. I rather enjoyed the way you ended off, forever the observer, a slave to fear.
