The author encourages honest critique.
Oh jeez! The simple sentimentality of this (I should be cautious of
anything with a dog) defines love for me. Paulson or someone else said
something like: "In my attempts to avoid cliché, I find I usually
end up avoiding the truth." Whatever; when it works for me,
I'm helpless. (Wonderful structure, picture, by the way.) On my reading list.

i kinda felted it 'corny' by my lofty standards, but, as i do wit near all my writs, it 'goes out' same as it 'sprouted' regardless'o what I-Think about'em.......

Read this poem a while ago and meant to come back for it.
You feel, think, so you write and that's how it should be. Uncontrollably uncontrived, and I love dogs. Got three hairy balls with teeth myself.
and yes, the picture is pretty cool too.
Cliche? All poetry has become that after centuries of everybody trying not to be cliche they kinda ruined it for us so fook 'em.
I'm taking this one too.

Yes I also have a soft spot (on my head) for doggies. I have an even softer spot for a doggerel that literally contains a doggie. I don't know how I messed and missed this one, but it is a fine little one. As above fellows said the strength is in the simplicity and honesty.
