River Child
Rising rising
through the water
Joining the naked air.
My face
My bare flesh.
I observe your shaky movements.
Your uncontrollable stumbling.
Land dwellers,
You cannot touch
without bringing harm.
Will you catch sight of me?
My sisters?
The river whispers to us
she asks us to come home
To return to the soft currents of safty.
Your crude eyes glance over us.
Not seeing
Not feeling.
Humans never do.
Sinking
Sinking
Returning home.
Into the soft
deep waters.
through the water
Joining the naked air.
My face
My bare flesh.
I observe your shaky movements.
Your uncontrollable stumbling.
Land dwellers,
You cannot touch
without bringing harm.
Will you catch sight of me?
My sisters?
The river whispers to us
she asks us to come home
To return to the soft currents of safty.
Your crude eyes glance over us.
Not seeing
Not feeling.
Humans never do.
Sinking
Sinking
Returning home.
Into the soft
deep waters.
