When You Steal My Voice
The ton of you, the lot-
Shut up and sit down.
Listen to me talk.
These words I must write down.
You steal my voice,
Through the day,
A mouthful you have to say,
Only one to hear it.
Only your self to bear it.
Only me to question-
Is it truths you say?
More lies-
Confusions, of facts gone astray.
A stolen voice can't scream,
Nor cry.
But can lift the hand,
And to the pen,
Forget the words gone by.
Turning truths into lies,
And lies into truths.
When you steal my voice.
Shut up and sit down.
Listen to me talk.
These words I must write down.
You steal my voice,
Through the day,
A mouthful you have to say,
Only one to hear it.
Only your self to bear it.
Only me to question-
Is it truths you say?
More lies-
Confusions, of facts gone astray.
A stolen voice can't scream,
Nor cry.
But can lift the hand,
And to the pen,
Forget the words gone by.
Turning truths into lies,
And lies into truths.
When you steal my voice.
