Someone told me its better to not
want things you cant have
what if all i want is your embrace
no words
no apologies
no goodbyes
just that warmth
that chases
away the cold chills
the fears
of not being good enough
of not being strong enough
what if all i want is your
body next to mind
standing still
and fighting the time
that seems to escape us  
every time we breathe each other in
just to be soothed
with the rough palm of your hands against my
back rubbing away
the rejection you pushed
towards me
rubbing at my raw pride
created in the mist of my mind
instead of hiding the emotions
threatening to show themselves
ill turn my head into the
crook of your shoulder
so that i may pretend this isn't
the first time
so that i don't have to see the
distance pulsing in your eyes
you are no "love" of mine
just a lust that grew
bold over time
so standing at a safe distance
i open my eyes
and stop the questions from
forming in my already aching mind
because the answer has been there this entire time
i always want what is not
mine...
