From My Window Contemplations
Watching outside my window,I see life unfold
in a million ways...with the sun on tilt,I hear
children playing, and collapsing in heaps of laughter
outside my door
Water sprinklers catching the giddy screams of the young
as they dart to and fro in the heat.
Watching outside my window I see Ellen walking her dog,or
should I say the dog ( a great Dane) is walking her furiously
down the hill from our homes...
as My neighbors further up the hill
Look down in amusement as
Ellen's dog goes in for the home stretch chasing a cat into the under brush.
It is here, in this window that I catch a glimpse of happiness
as day to day lives are lived in robust glee,as we the souls
of the universe inhabit these spaces, shining a light that is
limitless and boundless
sharing a plight that is shared by all
and understood by none..
the human condition...of habitual
methodical breathing, eating, and sleeping
allowing the routine of life to soothe us into
the fine lines of complacency ...as I]
Watch outside my window...I tell myself that this is
what life is about even though the truth
has a sneaky way of creeping up on me in the middle of
the night.
Yet I imagine on into the fabric of the day to day
enjoying the monotony as it is an assurance
that the sun may yet and still
rise tomorrow.
