Wanderings
Within this forest
My heart does beat
For wander I so lost
A soul searching for a mate
Or a kindred soul to meet
So dark this forest
so dusky so frightening
and yet, compelled, I traverse on
I quest and search for someone
To take my hand and lead me out
This forest live within my existence
Engulfing passion clutching my being
Lives on and on, ever darkening
Grasps me it in merciless love
I wander on touching each falling leaf
Thus I meander as I wait
For haloes of breaking lights
To guide me out from this darkest of night
Until I see the break of dawn
Here I be, lost and forlorn
My heart does beat
For wander I so lost
A soul searching for a mate
Or a kindred soul to meet
So dark this forest
so dusky so frightening
and yet, compelled, I traverse on
I quest and search for someone
To take my hand and lead me out
This forest live within my existence
Engulfing passion clutching my being
Lives on and on, ever darkening
Grasps me it in merciless love
I wander on touching each falling leaf
Thus I meander as I wait
For haloes of breaking lights
To guide me out from this darkest of night
Until I see the break of dawn
Here I be, lost and forlorn

I really liked this poem about looking for love in the forest as it is charming and well written...as usual....
I think you have found the right path...at least you are not in a bar or pub where someone asks you:
"Do you come here often?"....out in the forest you will breathe fresh air and see flowers and trees...and maybe a little frog will jump in front of you and ask to be kissed...DO NOT!!!!!! He will turn out to be a handsome PRINCE who EXPECTS to be waited on like Prince Charles...and we all know what happened to Diana......
Love your poetry

we cant stop the longing desire
because the heart is the fire
that fuels the passion within
we just hope that it inspires a beneficial friend
who will share some of the same hopes & dreams
because Earthly Love is a 2 person team....

We are truly kindred spririts, Grace! This poem has much within it that I myself have often felt, especially of late. Many of my own poems have had similar subject matter, and so I feel for you. I know what it is, to be lost in such a forest... all who long for soemthing more, especially when it comes to love, will sooner or later traverse such a domain. In many ways, mayhaps we are both lost in the same forest together, searching for that one love that will be greater than all else. As long as we remain steadfast, though, I believe we will find what we seek. This poem is magnificent! I am happy you posted it here for us to read.

Dear Jessica: as you, the wanderings are in me, a parallel me within. I feel lost at times and I dont know where I will end up...sometimes I just need that hub, the nexus of being; that make me feel tangible and real. I think you understand this.

I do indeed, Grace! When one is an old soul, no matter how young their body, there is much that can occupy their thoughts, and many ways that one can become lost either in their thoughts or on whatever path they are on in life. Sometimes life can be just plain chaotic, and in such moments we need a certain familiar rock... the nexus you speak of... to center ourselves so that we can make sense of things and continue on our journey from there. One such as us, is always a wanderer of sorts. And such is both blessing and curse, depending upon what the individual person makes of it. All we can do is strive for our goals, hope for the best, and do what we can in life.

The circles of cycles, my dear Jessica is always there, it brings us round and back again. I long for that glade where I dwell each time I complete a cycle. At times I am weary and those around me seem to be strangers while those whom I dont know seem to be more tangible and real. I know you understand this.
