Soul Silhouette
Forgive and forget
Is a phrase I have used
You're certain you've won some twisted bet
But I'm afraid you have the facts confused
And you shouldn't count the payout yet
For trust isn't something to be abused
No my trust isn't something you should have abused
There is no regret
To be found within you
Wealth is all you know how to pursue
Though money can never repay your debt
So give from within, your payment's past due
Learn to stand tall without a safety net
It's time you were more than a dark silhouette

Many fail to realise how little value money truly has.
Your words speak volumes. A wonderful pen. :)

"Well I don't care too much for money
for money can't buy me love"
The first song I can remember hearing as a child has stayed with me all my life.

Poetryman, money yes: we have a saying "Health is wealth" but some people say "Having money means you can be miserable in nice places." I however believe that you can't confide in money nor will it warm your bed at night. You think?

if you have money you can buy a thrapist to confide in and someone to lie next to you and warm the bed, but they do come with caveats...
Nevertheless, I have bills to pay and therapists and bed warmers are too expensive for my wallet...
Also, I have very poor health, which lines up perfectly with health is wealth, as I have very poor wealth too. Funny how that works out, eh? jj

Money bought me a comfy bed
To sleep on. Love the song that stayed
With you though.

Talking with the man above he gave me no hint of payment owed. The poem missed the seat by 4". Nothing to clean here, good job.

Love the title and the poem! The last lines feel utterly poignant. I particularly enjoyed how you drew on "you shouldn't count the payout yet" referring to a loss of trust which is unattainable once lost and no amount of money can buy back.
On a more positive note your poem reminds me of a quote though I don't know the author .... "If you want to feel rich just count all the things you have that money can't buy"
... blessing
