I am woman!
Standing before you, looking you in the eye
one fist pound to the chest,
I tell you: I am a woman of substance!
More than just a consequence
or occurrence of happenstance!
My hearts beats fiercely for you,
my eyes cry passionately for you,
my hands bleed copiously for you,
and when, all others have turned their back,
in that moment, I will show you my definition of love.
Not some fly by night flighty frivolous feeling
that disappears when things get tough,
or the kind that decides this is too hard
not worth the commitment to continue on.
Hah! Eye to eye look at me!
I am more than peaches and cream!
I am woman, here I stand,
with courage and tenacity,
intelligence and the audacity
to defy any who stand in my way.
Can you see me? I am woman!
This is my definition of love!
