Paralyzed
lying on a bed of searing ember; or
is it a late evening snow?
one final taste of the euphoric powder; all
that was needed to feel the addicting numbness
emerald eye’s, narrowed tranquil
gazing beyond heaven’s promised land; a
weightless feather, floating fog
mirrored self, drifting serenely
under trees and wealth of falling leaves
golden summer rays [where] music sings a birds praise
battling to stay in this contented nirvana; fighting
the threads that are binding; pulled
back to the prison within

Hey you!
I am glad you saw serenity, because it was meant to say serenely. I am not sure if you think that sounds better or not, but that is what I meant to say.
Thanks for the comment and that add. It's much appreciated. :D

We feel and see the most when at rest, dreaming, or the inability to move. These people have moved mountains with the paralyzed dreams. Very colorful and pictureful. Kudos my friend.

The imagery in this is astonishing and perfectly expresses how it feels to be disconnected from the body while being trapped inside it. I had just such an experience a few months ago when I was in the hospitol after my stroke and they gave me morphine for pain I was in from an intestinal bug I caught while there. I was too worried about what was happening to enjoy the whole thing, but you have conveyed the essence well. Have you had kind of experience or did this all flow from the imagination? It feels very real to me, excellent piece!!!! jj

Well thank you! It always means a lot when you like what I write. Yes, Morphine will certainly do that to you!
Most of this came from my imagination, however, I did have an experience, just not quite like this.
Thrilled you like it!

You created very beautiful imagery with these
"emerald eye’s, narrowed tranquil
gazing beyond heaven’s promised land; a
weightless feather, floating fog
mirrored self, drifting serenely"
nicely done!
