Shattered
Sitting on the cold, wet concrete
Bare feet dangling in the fountain
Wishing the water could wash the pain away
Sobbing, regretting what she was about to do
Blade in hand,
slowly slicing into the pale flesh of her thin wrist
Footsteps coming slowly, cautiously
He sees her, tears staining her frightened face
Holding her, this stranger he tries to console
Whispering, "Everything will be alright"
Days, weeks, months together
Promising to never leave her alone
She is keeping secrets though
Knowing she should tell him
But the secret is gone and soon so is he
How can he leave her, this girl he once loved so dearly?
Standing with her heart like glass
Shattering in her trembling hands
Bare feet dangling in the fountain
Wishing the water could wash the pain away
Sobbing, regretting what she was about to do
Blade in hand,
slowly slicing into the pale flesh of her thin wrist
Footsteps coming slowly, cautiously
He sees her, tears staining her frightened face
Holding her, this stranger he tries to console
Whispering, "Everything will be alright"
Days, weeks, months together
Promising to never leave her alone
She is keeping secrets though
Knowing she should tell him
But the secret is gone and soon so is he
How can he leave her, this girl he once loved so dearly?
Standing with her heart like glass
Shattering in her trembling hands
