a time of gathering

.withered leaves swim like
            fish in a dead breeze

the years search
   for a retirement home

the night skies gives
     the moon a Judas kiss
          to betray the risng sun

the memory of love
   sits in a dingy room
        sharpening a razor

the gathering of angel
  wings fluttering behind
      the eyes of damp sleep

the gathering of tears
 into small puddles where
    children's anoint sadness

the gathering of flowers
   begging for mercy from
           the gardeners shear

like the gathering of
  words on a moonless
      page to create stars
        falling from an empty
heart

all of
    this

everything,
  everywhere
