Salem Road (Left Side of the Lost) I
“Light from the day feeds the hungry night
Manifesting dark mysteries considered by many not to be right,
“Salem Road is considered a short cut one can take
Across railroad tracks a train rarely take,
“Turning left leads to houses embedded in living mist
In an uncut open yard where the grass causes cancerous parasitic cyst,
“Traveling closer a dog can be heard barking in the street
But beware, the beast is one you do not want to meet,
“At the wrong time you might see something riding a strange bike
Never let it approach or prepare to receive the ride of your life,
“The mechanical device is composed of twisting dead flesh
That drips green blood upwards-a sight you will never forget,
“The road continues straight a little more before it bend
In a dark corner rest a broken church where you can confess your sin,
“Few have been immortally cleansed, but many never last
As their confessed words manifest into nightmares driving them mad,
“The madness eventually tricks you into an infinite corridor
As increased pain becomes unbearable and you fall to the floor,
“Realizing that your own sin has made you claw out your own eyes
Because your sight has tasted your tongue’s flavor of lies,
“Further around the corner is a chain of ruined factories
Which has produced unnatural horrors throughout the centuries,
“Sounds of suffering can be heard from the enslaved hurt
Because pain is the main ingredient of their sinister work,
“Along the property line is barbwire that displays a sick fate
Made from hollowed out bones of those who tried to escape,
“Whenever the wind blows it whistles a chilling song
Of lost hope for the individual of ever making it home,
“But the song is changed whenever it enters our reality
To a familiar melody that disguises the horror and misery,
“Many who have traveled the short cut realize too late
When their world is shattered and consumed by their own dark fate”.
