Broken Promises
Meteors streaking across the sky
In a flash of light
Like fired arrows
Burning their way down
To dive into the eclipse
Too far to catch
Too far to touch
Taking every glint of hope
With each fleeting day
Lost to the stars, shooting my dreams
Writhing in despair within the hollow loop
Of broken promises
As Earth’s waltz around the sun
Carried on
