Lady Fancy R.I.P. ( A tribute )

I knew Lori as well anyone knows someone whom they've never met but knew so well..
She was on DUP at the same time I was but we never crossed paths until we did.
Ironically we worked at the same company in the city but did not know each other then.
Had we known each other then we surely would have had drinks downstairs in the bar where everyone went on Friday nights...
That brings us to DUP.

I think she commented on one of my poems and I back and then another and that went on for awhile.  Till one day I posted a painting with one of my poems and then it was like we knew each other our entire lives....

Ok, so many of you know me here.
I told Lori I was the unofficial Mayor and Sheriff.  She liked that, though no stranger to erotic writing, she agreed this place needed a firm hand at times to keep the
riffraff at bay.  That was and is my job.

Lori was a beauty.  I was always struck by how much we had in common.  She wasn't a car girl and walked everywhere often getting up early in the morning to walk to work.  I did the same.  We commiserated at the joy of walking and exercise.  No car, no problem as the saying goes. Lori and I were close. As close as people whom would never meet but enjoyed the simple tides of life.

Lori loved my paintings.  I was honored by her compliments.  She would often tell me what she saw in them.  People do that to artists.  It's abstract but people see things.
Things we don't see when painting them but see when pointed out to us.

When she met Rob and started to fall in love she often told me she would go to the end of the earth to be with him.  It was a lighting fast relationship that occurred without my knowledge until one day she spilled the beans.  If you could have seen the look on my face, you would have smiled too.  I told Lori I was happy for her, I remember saying "nice going kid, you bagged a good one".  I often called her kid, it's what older guys say to young beauties whom they somehow have the pleasure to know.... though we never met, somehow we knew each other forever....

Postscript

Rob reached out to me a few days ago and gave me the sad news of her passing.  I'm still blown away.  There are no answers. They were planning to marry.  It's unexplainable why love is given and taken away so needlessly.  I mourn for Rob and I dry tears for Lori ...
