I came back to comment and you switched up the painting! I like both but I think the other spoke to me more as far as this poem. It made me think of a cage, as in caged emotions and living on the fringe. This painting is much softer, almost if you’re stepping back, further back than what I envision the fringe to be.

Yes, you got the line right..
I switched to this painting to reflect the messiness of a broken thermometer.  All that mercury infecting everything it touches.
I can't remember what the other painting was.  Old sod that I am.
So you're back after a respite.  I knew you would be.  We are all addicted to this sugar word pill...
