On occasion, our paths cross:
fragments of interaction
encouragement
kindness
laughter
Even more infrequently, a conversation:
immediately comfortable
close and vulnerable
deep support
understanding
more laughter
I won't tell you
how these connections light up my heart
To say it aloud
would bring a weight of expectation
I don't care
if it's mutual or not
I'm happy just to know you're there
When we are nothing but starlight
I'm certain my soul will recognize yours
winking slyly at me
singing your heart song
from across the sky

This is a beautiful and touching read to come across today, it actually transcends the themes chosen here because it serves as a reminder that we're all trying to navigate through life individually and together, in a society that is struggling through difficult climates financially, environmentally, socially and politically, we all need some reassurance humanity still exists especially around this time of the year when it hits extreme hard for some individuals, it brings some light into the proceedings and that's what I adore most about this piece.

I'm with you on that one, connection in every shape and form is precious and important, we never know how long they will last for, have to hang on to them while we can 😌

Oh, I did!! But it was/is a friend-crush, there's not much to "go for" other than simply staying connected. Being able to achieve that over the challenge of distance makes my heart glad. 😊

Ohhhhh!
I was just having a short PM conversation with someone in here, telling them to be brave and find those good hearted writers to converse with. And to not let the "questionable" ones run them off. It's really all about the camaraderie of writing here. Positivity creates an environment for productivity. Ultimately, we should strive to be better writers, right? And in the inbetweens, make it somewhere that encourages others to keep going too.
You're a shining light, ya know.
