Spirit's Song

Should I cover my wounded heart in silken shrouds
Or splay it wide open and filleted for all to see?
Maybe I should close the open book that I've allowed
All that have desired... have freely seen.

Maybe I should snuff out the fire that burns
Deep in the chambers of my soul.
The risk has taught me and many lessons learned
Your heart sometimes leads you where it wants to go.

I fly with my emotions and never think first.
Sensuality's charm is what I need.
Seductive passion it quenches my thirst.
I dare you to look inside me and just read.

I've loved breathlessly and want to once more
and cradle your heart in my hands.
I don't want to be guarded or shut open doors
Unleash the desires I feel that I can.

My heart stirs with hope and longing right now
my passion has led me to danger before
I am intrigued by a mystery somehow.
it's what excites me right down to my core.

I'll write you a poem, a prose or a love song.
The romantic in me just will not sleep.
I'll gamble my heart although it may be wrong.
The enchantment of love is why I live and why I breathe.
