Half a heartbeat
Blossoms falling on the grassy meadow
Sounds of singing cicadas
The caress of the gentle zephyr
Upon my cheeks
Sounds of children’s laughter
Ringing in joy from far away
They are sepia tones in my yesteryears
They remind me of you
The crashing waves upon the shore
The cries of sea birds up above
The sounds of wind that sough
Among the leafy trees
They do remind me of you
The day you told me you are leaving
The day you said you could not stay
The day I died slowly within
The birds in the sky
The flowers in the field
The rainbow’s hues
The touch of a gentle hand
They all remind me of you
How you came and how you went
Promises given and broken
Pledges all undone
Now I am alone once again
A fool who love you still
Maybe harder
And deeper
I miss you
I hate being single
Even though you are untrue
Come back soon I miss you.
