Image for the poem shine

shine

undulating under the surface
breaking the night and curses
seeking the eternal silent dread
could be something all in my head

culminating, ruminating, salavating, teaming

irked and rankled lot
serenading restless ghosts
epiphanies of spirits show me too much
I request, the portal open lightly
so that my shadow not be frightened

earnestly seeking higher grounds
twisting on days of plight
my soul renews and reaches
it is with doubt I tarry

inside the darkness... I saw
all of the angelic beauty and more
shouting a hallelujah at me

waking me from my slumber
turning to the Lord and uttering
by thy mercy

keening, then tears reveal
within the shaded glade, my shine revealed
