Evocation
On frozen shores where silence reigns
Beneath the stars that twist and weep
A ritual dark, in binding chains
Awakes where shadows never sleep
The skies above, they coldly lie
But deeper still, a star does glow
Reflected in the ice-bound eye
Of those who bow to what's below
At Earth’s forsaken edge they stand
With eyes cast up, but souls laid bare
And constellations, wild and grand
Speak words too ancient for the air
In darkest reaches of the night
They feel the pull of unseen gaze
Weaves through death, primal blight
Through all forgotten yesterdays
A circle drawn in bone and ash
Where flesh and spirit twist as one
Where life is burned to fit the lash
And man becomes what he’ll become
For ages buried deep and cold
The instincts rise, the bloodlines call
And now, through rites of iron old
Man’s base desires unfurl, enthrall
The ghosts of beasts that once were men
Now stir beneath the icy tide
They cry for blood, for bone, and then
They break the seal where death does hide
No words are spoken, none are told
The ritual speaks through the flame
And as the blood runs dark and cold
The beast and man are just the same
For in these shores, where hope is drowned
And kingdoms lost to frost and mist
The primal urge, in silence bound
Awakens with a fateful twist
The fog rolls in, a shroud of grief
Where once there walked the proud and free
But now, abandoned, cold, and brief
Their souls have turned to what must be
The instincts, buried in the snow
Are now the only truths they find
And what was man is now below
His beast released, no longer blind
And so they fall, through stars and stone
Through ages past, through bloodlines raw
To primal depths, their forms unknown
Where man is lost and beast is law
Now the fog hides this ghostly shore
Where rites of ruin still unfold
Where man and beast rise nevermore
But dance through darkness, uncontrolled
Beneath the stars that twist and weep
A ritual dark, in binding chains
Awakes where shadows never sleep
The skies above, they coldly lie
But deeper still, a star does glow
Reflected in the ice-bound eye
Of those who bow to what's below
At Earth’s forsaken edge they stand
