Nitrogen plasma
internal hoarfrost
blackened
my sweaty fingertips
as I read
the goodbye letter
you left
in invisible ink
the frostbite
matches
the rest of me
I loved you
with this
nitrogen-steeped
heart
enough
to brave the cold
but your last hit
sprayed brittle pieces of it
on the ground
with shards
of our broken
dreams
I cut my foot on them,
as if they were glass
from a shattered snowglobe
bloody footprints
limping slowly away
are all I have left
to show you
that I believed
blackened
my sweaty fingertips
as I read
the goodbye letter
you left
in invisible ink
the frostbite
matches
the rest of me
I loved you
with this
nitrogen-steeped
heart
enough
to brave the cold
but your last hit
sprayed brittle pieces of it
on the ground
with shards
of our broken
dreams
I cut my foot on them,

bloody footprints
limping slowly away
are all I have left

You are fierce! Absolute dynamite!
I really do enjoy reading your art you’re creative, beautiful mind, and the way that you articulate your thoughts into words it’s like sitting down and having a conversation with you you are so real and honest I love that. Seriously, I’m pretty self-centered, but actually enjoy reading from you thoroughly.
Thank you for sharing Betty.

Dear B,
I realized after the first read through how bottomless heartbreak is. The second read through yanked out my insides because it made me think how forever altered I became after I read the invisible inked letter I received. I’m not sure how to reassemble a decimated heart but I do know reading your poems are a life line. H🌷

It's only endless because I'm stupid. Like, seriously. Smooth brain. I keep reading the same damn letter, like it's going to be different this edition. (watery sigh) I wish I had a lumpier brain. It would make the decimated heart less broken-y.
Thank you my sweet friend.

Some people never try.
It's a risk.
It means putting yourself out there.
The more times you try, the more practice you get at dealing with human beings.
They're messy.
But, at the Olympic level, it's wide open.
You never get over it. You endure it. Every breath is costly.
And....in the vortex, the awards are short lived while sunsets carry dissapointus borealis.

Fuck, turtle?
dissapointus borealis
Go write that fucking poem. The way it lights up the night sky in a sworl of painted agony… go! Now!
Also? Love you man. Thank you.

This was sharply shattering, but the vulnerability beautiful.
Any day your heart hurts is a day to many.
I love your writing.

Re. Nitrogen plasma
Seriously strong writing. The blackening fingers sets the tone for the thematic frostbite flawlessly. Then you up the frost with a reference to liquid nitrogen, really bringing to the forefront the ache of that now empty heart. Finishing with the blood which screams this left me wounded as I walked away. Excellent word choices and a brilliant poem.

Thanks Thor.
You know those moments when your palm sweats and your heart races and everything gets cold at the same time? The appendages start to go numb because the core needs to save the heart and brain and you’re so fucked in the moment that it feels like you might literally die so your body is executed the ‘live bitch’ protocol?
Yeah I was just funning around trying to describe that.
Glad you liked it.

Your brain is perfect the way it is, so is your heart. You don’t do life, love or loss, half assed and that’s rare.
The passion in your words, the perfect line breaks, every reference you use should be in a handbook on how to be real. What we need more of in this world are people who are unafraid to be themselves, as messy, authentic and imperfect as they are. Only then will this world be a perfect place. People like you are the reason I keep giving this disaster of a planet a second chance.

Fuck! This was beautiful.
I never know how to reply at moments like this except to say that… you are best.

You poems always make me wonder why do I even bother to write poetry when I can read great stuff as yours… I think I should quit

Aw man, I’m an egomaniac. You can’t say shit like that. I’ll start preening and prancing and beg for more.
Hey, thanks Sam. That was really kind.

Life lessons: Time passes. People change. Love needs a reason. People have already checked out before they leave. A letter is closure, today people ghost and block. Pain is fuel. You manifest your reality. Flip the script. 🌼

AJ, do people really change?
I used to wholeheartedly believe. But I’m having a lapse in faith.
I appreciate you my dear. You always say the right things and it means a lot.

Re: Re. Nitrogen plasma
Yes, we change. There's no such thing as stasis in life. We change for the better or for the worse. Most regret their errors and mistakes. Whether we can make amends and rebuild a bridge...sometimes. Its really hard to kill pride. Most people place blame rather than accept it.
