Affection Makes You Weak
She snickered in my face
I told her all the things that I felt and she laughed me right out the door
I can still hear her laughing at me
Even when I'm alone, I can hear her cackling like a witch
I want to get out
Get in my car at night and drive an endless road to somewhere but nowhere
Affection is a disease
Don't succumb to it, it will wipe you out!
It's for weak fools
I've moved on
I told her all the things that I felt and she laughed me right out the door
I can still hear her laughing at me
Even when I'm alone, I can hear her cackling like a witch
I want to get out
Get in my car at night and drive an endless road to somewhere but nowhere
Affection is a disease
Don't succumb to it, it will wipe you out!
It's for weak fools
I've moved on

I can definitely feel the pain and lesson learned here- rejection can make us want to crawl into a hole and never come out.

Antipathy is the way of the world. Unfortunately, there isn't much empathy, and that leads to such things as the topic covered here. It seems as though persecution, discrimination, and oppression are strength, to those who want to get ahead. Along with that mentality and mindset, there's an acceptance of hard-heartedness in the necessity to survive, based on conflict, and dealing with that. To me, that can be a weakness. Numbing the pain, and putting it away deep never really works, when you exchange it for sociopathic philosophy. I recognize, realize, and understand that it's a culture thing with heavy metal, and it can merely be an expression of art, but deep down, you don't really heal. I guess some people are just flat out evil., or some other people endure imbalanced emotion until the end of their life. You have to get away from people like that, which ironically, you show some conscience in the decision to get away from this woman, hypothetically speaking in the metaphor of this piece. Kind of ironic. Anyway, just some thought. Thanks for sharing and evoking the thought.

Well done here. Seems as if it was drawn from my own head..
"I want to get out
Get in my car at night and drive an endless road to somewhere but nowhere"
This thought in particular is quite often on my mind. Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable read. Good one Vision.

Getting into the car with your favorite tunes is something I enjoy immensely. I added this to my story and it worked. Thanks Darkness. Appreciate it.

Indeed. It has long been a favorite pastime for t me, back to first getting my license. I cannot even begin to imagine the hours I have lived behind the wheel. There is little else in this world that make me feel so embraced as being alone with my music and the road in front of me.
