Jagged Edge

🩵

In
her
dream
one friday
at lunchtime
she carved out
a message to him
written in the sand
beneath the shadow
that captured her breath
floating between jagged rocks
swift and curious he moved his hand
across the top of her thigh, learning the
angles and edges of her shape and skin
following the line of mellowed sunlight
sharpened above the crests of waves
a streamlined net that tossed itself
widely across the ocean’s teeth
sitting beneath the stone walls
pawing madly at each other
they grinned like errant cats
the one that got the cream
so gently does it tiger
feeling each other up
with alfresco style
kissing it’s just
so damn hot
here today
entwined
with
him

Author's Note
A beautiful Friday on a beach. I wanted the shape of the poem on the page to mirror the shape of the jagged edge pictured above
