Most folks when engaged in conversation
Only hear while the brain prepares a response
Not fully paying attention could often lead
To communication breakdown
Instead listen with intent to understand
Empathize acknowledging their feelings
And though at times we may deal with bitter pessimists
I guess you can say more by speaking less

I understand this view dearest Wally but most people disappoint not with their words but their actions... I was called a pessimist when I was a child but when this occurs over and over again with people and their acts you sometimes lose hope and just watch body language as opposed to words not fully realized...I do struggle to hear out a person at times though...

I do have to add that body language is also just as important. Perhaps we cannot always connect with someone at a more profound level and that's OK. We accept what is out of our control, just on our own choices and behaviors.

Very true. Many are formulating a retort but fail to look at body language, emotion and all things that go along with communication.
