Image for the poem Summer Rain

Summer Rain

Summer rain drips on my skin

Like a lovers sweat

Heat, on heat.

Beating and burning

Trying to scorch you.

From the outside

 to see what’s within

Unrelenting in its pursuit

To get through the suit

To the glistening

Alcove of youth

Unrelenting rays

Unstoppable precipitation

Until the sun

Engulfs the mound

Venus proclaimed

Skies turned dark

Ocean swells

Winds holds you down

Until it’s satisfied

With screams of

Ecstasy and release

Mingled in the summer's rain.
