Blinded, woeful, soul asleep
poignant denial, heavy and deep

stagnant in place since early youth
impotent to see the inalienable truth

consuming lethal mead, hopelessly
disregard for austere potency

consequent effects, grievous loss
burning bridges not meant to cross

uninspired, remaining still
dull and stale, becoming ill

drowning, decaying, almost dead
hanging on by just one thread
