Image for the poem Prisoner

Prisoner

I am a prisoner of my mind's confine
a captive soul held by an intangible line
my belief's stronghold trapping me
never compromising never free

my beliefs and convictions is a fortress
with rigid walls constructed by thoughts
big and small rocks its foundation
I am a prisoner of my own creation

the chains of character constrict
I cannot cry freedom from idealism
a promise must never be broken
a gift must never be returned

once the red light turn
there will be no return
once the green flickers
there is no hesitations

I struggle to break free
of the balls and chain
to go beyond where freedom reigns
but the mind clings to its cherished cage
