Maid of Kentucky
Choices you made, made you choiceless
Had your children, but lost your life
I was your last baby, the last you could have
And you said, “womanhood is gone.”
My mama, you’re the patron saint
Of all of women’s suffering
You’re dedication won’t go unnoticed
I’m gonna wear your name
When you leave this world
I’ll tell the tale of the Maid of Kentucky
Had your children, but lost your life
I was your last baby, the last you could have
And you said, “womanhood is gone.”
My mama, you’re the patron saint
Of all of women’s suffering
You’re dedication won’t go unnoticed
I’m gonna wear your name
When you leave this world
I’ll tell the tale of the Maid of Kentucky
