MAY I LICK IT?
I had heard
about it;
seen pictures
of it and
now I was
seeing it firsthand.
"Do you want to
taste it?" the
owner asked.
May I lick
it I asked?
"Yes!" he replied'
I placed my
mouth on the
drain hole in the
Maple Tree and
tasted the sweet
liquid soon to be syrup.
I can still taste it
and think of it especially
when I taste Maple syrup.
Amazingly it all started
with licking that tree.
