At the spreading of her ashes,
we let our sister enter into death
to remain for all time suspended
in the abiding mystery of existence.
May we live from her legacy
and learn to love as she loved,
without caution or reservation.

Author's Note
This was unusual for me, but a friend asked if I would write a small oral response to include in her mother's funeral service. Her mother who was also my boss (pictured here third from the left) lived a fascinating life and was loved by many. I was honored play a small part in the service.

An honour indeed to write something for her mother, perhaps she knew about what had been done for your mother's cremation. BTW what did she die from, she seems young?

It appeared to be pneumonia. She attended a concert with friends, returned home and was later found unresponsive in her bed. She was only 52.

My father knew of people who died of what he called 'instant flu' viruses - your friend's mother may have been the victim of such.
