Adventure

Dawn’s light,
Iridescent through the curtains,
Fills this quiet room
With a sense of growing wonder

Without,
Beneath the white blankets,
Spring is gently stirring,
Soon to wake,
Like a lover from night of
Ardent revelry

Steam frolics and fades
From a solitary cup of coffee,
A quiet moment to reflect
On the goodnesses of this
Brief life,
And peace long-sought

The winter sky,
Pale blue,
Adorned with restless wisps of cloud,
Beckons

And far off,
Adventure whispers,
And willing feet
Must find her

A brief write as I finish prepping for a journey overseas. It’ll be far too short, and this moment of writing is often the sweetest part of it for me.
