Frosty Memories

In places of misty fog
much patience waiting
produces brilliant diamonds

and

when the world collapses in on itself with a single smile
a thousand love songs dance upon the wind
the touch of a fingertip someplace innocuous
makes shivers radiate from small soft spaces
crickets and frogs play rhythmic selections to the swallows
whose song winds threads of possibility into our hair
I can think a thousand thoughts of buoyant maybes
now that I know you can dance with your heart, too

dancing with dreams am I, come morning
moments before dawn shines bright
when doubts intrude
thoughts of warm caresses
      soft pauses
            and a smile
return order by remembrance of you
