Why So Serious

don't take the world with a frown on your face
we know that life is so full of cares and strife
don't let the burden be much more harder
than what is already on our plate

in this site, I set aside worldly worries
of not having electricity and clean water tomorrow
due to the lack of coins in my flattened purse
or if I can collect my meds from the pharmacy

Let's take a moment to enjoy this site

this is where we compose our thoughts
piece together threads of words in pretty tapestry

for Poetry is such a beautiful art
it conveys feelings thoughts imaginations
in bouquets of beautiful imageries
pain and sorrow, grief and desolation

adoration, life, laughter and adventures
loss, unrequited love, missing a loved one
needing a shoulder to cry on
or giving points to ponder

these can be spoken of here
to discuss to talk to share
there are power in words
of advice, commiseration, sympathy

as for me let it be known that my verses
are not meant to cause fear
that blossoms of adoration
may spring up from my creations

for these words that I carefully weave
are creations of the mind in worlds
of castles in the air and glass slippers
I seek kindred spirits not hearts to deceive

when I admire your canvas of thoughts
I see creativity and talent that truly shines
as we pen each line we cherish moments
when words connect with vibrant beauty .
