Image for the poem Empherial Memories

Empherial Memories

Countless memories, fallen by my side,
Like winter leaves in a frosty stride.
I sought to embrace them, keep them near,
Yet nature played the bruiser, crystal clear.

Now, as the breeze dances through the air,
I contemplate how many will forever fare.
I aim to cling, to hold on with all my might,
Yet they drift away, into the new light.

Author's Note
"Empherial Memories" reflects a contemplative journey through the delicate nature of memories and the inevitable changes that time brings. The imagery of fallen memories, akin to frosted leaves in winter, seeks to convey the beauty and fragility of moments past. The struggle to hold onto these memories is met with the unyielding force of nature, a metaphor for life's unpredictability.

The poem unfolds as a reflection on the challenge of preserving what once was, juxtaposed with the recognition that memories, like leaves in the breeze, often find their way into the unknown. The title, "Empherial Memories," encapsulates the ephemeral and transient quality of these recollections.
