Breakup

Every time we argue,
you threaten to walk away,
dangling the threat
with a dose of emotional fray.

One day, I'll just depart,
silently, without much talk.
No more blackmail or despair,
just the freedom of my lone sail.

Author's Note
In "Breakup," I sought to delve into the intricate layers of human relationships, particularly the fragility encapsulated in the threat of separation. The verses unravel the emotional tumult that accompanies the moments of discord, revealing the delicate dance between love and the impending void. As a piece of advice echoed within these lines, it serves as a reminder that threatening to depart can leave lasting scars on the heart. Relationships thrive on understanding, communication, and empathy, and it is my hope that readers reflect on the importance of fostering connection rather than resorting to the potential wounds inflicted by such ultimatums.
