Forgiveness

shadows of past mistakes haunts
the heart that nags the soul
for forgiveness and healing
a beacon of hope bestowed

teary eyes beg for forgiveness
showing the depth of hurt and pain
and yet the accusing eyes glare
forgiveness still deep among disdain
.
there's a pretty space somewhere
where healing begins again
like pretty flowers everywhere
sparkling hope of fragrance

release the chains that bind
the heart and soul shackled in hatred
grudges borne like suckling babies
embraced on a burdened bosom

forgiveness is a balm a soothing wipe
that washes away the wounds we hide
maybe the broken pieces stay broken
but at least mistakes are forgiven

the future holds better promises
lessons learnt through mistakes
just forgive and move forward
forgiveness will guide us home.
