Compromise
Silence is your daily greeting
I shouldn’t have expected something different
Did I satisfy your usual craving?
Your eyes no longer shine even when you pay me a compliment.
I’m sick and tired of making this compromise
I can’t keep up with these mixed signals you’re sending me
You used to beam with love; now you’re as cold as ice
My life and blood are oozing out of the seams.
Take it or leave it; it’s your problem that you got bored
You keep on making the same mistake; why do you complain?
Life’s too short to stall; make your way out the revolving door
I sometimes wonder if there’s any rationality left in your brain.
I’ve drawn the line; I’ll no longer make this compromise
You promised me the sky, yet you dragged me into hell
I’ve been through the dark night of the soul; it’s now my time to rise
I’ve shed my old skin, while you still remain an empty shell.
