Morning Marathons

Surf the waves until the waters settle
Don't blow your top like a steaming kettle
Life'll beat you up and keep you on trial
Judge and jury incarcerating your smile

Traveling for miles on roads of tribulations
Starts erecting dark thoughts full of ideations
Depression's a beast bearing a pitch fork & horns
Genetically afflicting some entities when their born

Worn like scarlet letters that folks'll never be able to see
Branded onto psyches like we've joined Greek fraternities
Stepping on happy emotions like it's dancing to a beat
But we must keep persevering instead of falling to defeat

One of the greatest deceits is what they sell in fairytales
Cause we see daily how life can be a living HELL
But until the final bell is rung we must run this marathon
So keep on pressing on as long as you awake in the morn
