In The Valley Between The Hills
There are trees, and birds in my valleys
Every heaven's breath there, is to please
Rocky hills,stretch along flowing wadies
The herds graze the grass at morning breeze
I live in the valley, between the pasture hills
From my place, i hear the sound of the ancient mills
I hear the horses, as they haul the wooden wheels
And the water force from their mouth, as it spills
Then, i perch upon the top of a cedar tree
And throw a bird's glance, with majestic glee
Catch the faint shadow of the thrush on a spree
Up into deep sky, hovering, singing joyfully
I live among the dolmen and the roman stones
Christian churchyards, house the ancient bones
And the winged statues, clad in idyllic gowns
The past times do have romance of their own
I live down by the foot of the old mountain
On the leeward side, secure among rocky hands
And a tall rooted eucalyptus tree, behind stands
Against the winds of time, by my side abiding
I live a few whiles from the railway trains
No longer on the track, the little heart pains
Thru' the vast pastures and the plains it winds
Two iron lines take my sight, and my life wanes
And i long for the old golden childhood times
A boy full of life, leaving dust in my wake
Into the shallow lake, our lives were at stake
Worms, snakes, dragonflies were our boyhood mates
I live close to the pine forest by the cemetery
Where bones of the past are kept since last century
Tall grass grows around, the dead sleep carefree
The tall cedar trees watch over the dead eternally.
Every heaven's breath there, is to please
Rocky hills,stretch along flowing wadies
The herds graze the grass at morning breeze
I live in the valley, between the pasture hills
From my place, i hear the sound of the ancient mills
I hear the horses, as they haul the wooden wheels
