Giants Before Us
When I look up at the mountains
I sometimes find it easy to see,
the giants that lived before us,
a world we never thought could be.
Something we can only imagine,
thousands and thousands of years ago,
gazing up at the mountain tops,
their lips, their chins, their nose.
Lying down upon the ground,
as they waited for death to come,
their bodies becoming the grass, the trees,
and the mountains, all becoming one.
I sometimes find it easy to see,
the giants that lived before us,
a world we never thought could be.
Something we can only imagine,
thousands and thousands of years ago,
gazing up at the mountain tops,
their lips, their chins, their nose.
Lying down upon the ground,
as they waited for death to come,
their bodies becoming the grass, the trees,
and the mountains, all becoming one.
