Safe Space

 

Let's escape to the place
that's deep in her heart
with millions of miles
to places embarked.

There is a promise
when we visit this space
No harm can be done
for it's a pure place.

I started building this place
when I was still young
the colors have changed
and the trees have all sprung.

I can go on adventures
and visit all that I've seen
for it is a place
much more than I dreamed.

If my focus is good
my connection is deep
I can feel the mist settle
from the waterfall's peak.

As I look to the right
The Meadows call out my name
I can smell all the flowers
and see all the rain.

Each year I add something
from the knowledge I've gained
I started the landscape
With all of my pain.

This picture I painted
is more than I feel
for is it a dream
or a moment that's real?

Something feels different
after all of these years
I've changed all the colors
While God's healed all the tears.

I now can run wild
Like the animals inside
no longer I feel
this space I should hide.
For now I have God
right by my side.
