Stephen Lawrence ----13th September 1974---22nd April 1993.

In the UK, October is Black History Month.
When people of African and Caribbean backgrounds come together as one,
Sticking two fingers up to Racism,
And all the nonsense of the world.

A lesson I have observed,
is that Black people are truly strong.
Too go through all that they went through,and still do. Yet still carry on,like regal champions.

The anger, they must feel,for all they've lost.
Could have easily destroyed their gentle,tough complicated souls.
 
 Instead they graciously,keep on contributing too the world.

A world that belonged too them,after all..

So all hail,
to October,
Black History Month.
That many,not all,
are proud of.

And though
African and Caribbean people's
contribution to society has often been overlooked or distorted.

Black History will always be one month of the year,it is every month,
Where everybody can be part of.

For without black.
We wouldn't be right here,
on a planet,we don't really belong.

It would be niaive to think that Racism will ever stop. But maybe
In futuristic times.
All ideologies will become a big bad joke.

There's Hope.
