my favourite fictional characters are old gits like myself: christopher fowler’s aging detective, arthur bryant, and wodehouse’s lord emsworth, to name but two who are better read than dead .. :)

PS: I sometimes play tour guide. Happens rarely, but recently I met a couple from Australia. He was proud to tell me (in quite adequate french) that he's 80 and his wife 79. Amazing energy...lots more than tons of people not even half their age. Regards, Robert.
