Narcissus Me See

I'ld like to think that I was proud of me  
That's until I allowed you to see  
All of the things my heart would let you do to me  
Lie to it and yet never be true to me  
 
Although pain was something new to me  
I found you looking for something different to do to me  
Pain isn't just simply pain you see  
I needed to be taught that there was variety and depth in me  
 
I needed to be taught there were different ways to care for me
To retain the pain while submitting the rest of me  
Your love was the ultimate test for the heart in me  
Obviously I failed your test I see  
 
Because pain and a broken me are the only things left to see  
Your heartless love was never fulfilled by me  
My heart now broken and shredded is a mystery to me  
Narcissus dying in a pool of blood echoing me  
 
Lost in the caverns of itself my heart now searches for me  
Relying on this darkened echoing pain using sonar to see  
Did my need ping off of your darkness still trapped inside of me  
Was Narcissus's reflection in the pool the you I'll forever see
