Yesterday's Loves
Are they ever lonesome
sweet lovers won and lost
Where are they now
the beating hearts
that meant so much
and do they ever stop
to think of me
for just one moment
after passing years
we all forgot
Which gods decide
our chemistry of memory
must reprise a favorite tune
visualise a smile
cry a single tear
recall a sweet perfume
Can happiness and heartbreak
walk together hands entwined
with the ashes of lost loves
so scattered by cruel time
sweet lovers won and lost
Where are they now
the beating hearts
that meant so much
and do they ever stop
to think of me
for just one moment
after passing years
we all forgot
Which gods decide
our chemistry of memory
must reprise a favorite tune
visualise a smile
cry a single tear
recall a sweet perfume
Can happiness and heartbreak
walk together hands entwined
with the ashes of lost loves
so scattered by cruel time
